Mad Alice

You selfish, misbegotten and unnatural child! You smelled the smoke, but you were in dreamland taking tea with your friends! You couldn't be bothered, your room was protected and spared while your family upstairs roasted in an inferno of incredible horror!

Pfaff Smarter 160s

this morning i walked into a sewing machine shop anb bought this beauty

it's my brand new beautiful sweet little Pfaff! my old sewing machine got broken and it could not be fixed, so i had to buy a new machine. i was really sad my old Singer got so bad, it was from 1972 and there are no spare parts for it anymore unfortunately :( the nice man at the sewing machine shop recommended this to me and i did some research, and bought it today. tonight i'm going to try it out and sew something nice :)

one cool thing is that the door to bobbin is clear plastic, so you can see how much thread there is on the bobbin! how nice!

i'll finish reading the manual and then let the sewing begin! hooray :)

Inhix in Bubblegum Nazi

Inhix modeling for my very own fashion collection, called Bubblegum Nazi. this collection will mix military style clothing with all the shades of baby and hot pink, with fetish undertones. i hope i will one day be able to release a fashion collection of mine, and Bubblegum Nazi is what i'm into. please do not get offended by the name of the collection. it's supposed to raise some eyebrows. it is in no way meant to be offensive. it's just a name.

practical training FINISHED!

i designed, made the patterns and sew this outfit for my practical training at school. i learned a lot, and had fun with it. thankfully i found a friend who was the perfect size to these clothes! they look so much better on a person than on a mannequin.

the skirt and top are linen-cotton mix fabric and fake leather accents on the collar and wristband. women's business wear.

yay!

Little Red Riding Hood's secret love

You say I am loca because I am your girl
You say I am stupid because I am your girl
You leave me out on the steps
You dress me up like a boy
You say that I am your secret love
You say to be quiet but I want to tell the whole world

Eyes white like yours, but completely different

not much to say about this. i'm having still this damn art block, and it won't go away. i have so many ideas but everything i draw is ugly. phew.

Jacket!

we haven't really sewed anything for ourselves at school this year. my practical training starts next week and i had to work late at school so i would finish this one in time! i know i will not get the best grades because parts of this are, well, made half-assed and in hurry. BUT the fit is nice and it looks good.

front view

sooo that's pretty much it. i printed out the patterns from computer, and then modified them by hand, made a mock-up to see how it fits. i had to alter the sleeve's pattern a bit but othervice it was looking nice.

there was a huge accident with this one but luckily i was able to save it.
it nearly killed the whole jacket. but, luckily i was able to make it better.

Alice progress!

i have been thinking about making this kind of post, a bit of my artistic process. i was painting my Alice, what have you done? picture, and took a couple of photos while finishing it. i have conflicting thoughts of this painting, first i hated it but it seems that people do like it (!!!) so maybe it's not that bad. but let's start...

this is how i begin with most of my pictures. i carry a sketch book with me all the time so i can sketch pictures when i want to. i have had this idea for god knows how long, but i just haven't been able to draw it for good. i started by sketching on my bigger sketch book, and then used tracing paper to trace this picture onto light pastel green paper.

then i start to colour. i usually start with the head because i feel the facial expression is important and i want to focus on the face. i used watercolour pencils here.

just a close up of the face. using coloured paper is always a bit mystery, how the colours work. this time it worked nice, there's a little pale tone on her face.

a little progress. all the areas are coloured with watercolour pencils, and now it's time to start with the paints. i am so lazy i'm going to paint her torso, instead of using my coloured pencils.

i hate how badly my digital camera works with colours. this is really bright in person. i wasn't really pleased with the paint job and my stupid camera (i don't own scanner, i always take photos of my art and try to work with Photoshop to get them look even a bit like the original). SO i opened Photoshop and started to mess around with it. first i adjusted the colours to be brighter like in the original picture, and then i started to deepen all the shadows and colour balance and contrast and painted the bottom of the picture black.

and here is the final product! as you can see it looks a lot different from the first sketch. i usually don't edit my pictures this much with Photoshop, but sometimes i like to play a little.

Mulperiperhonen - Silkmoth

Alice...what have you done?

Let me think (and you think about what)
About girls (and what else)
And money and new clothes (and what do I get)
Thirty nights (uh huh)
Of violence (yeah)
And sugar to love

The all-seeing eye leggings

so i've been having a week off school, it's winter holiday time in Finland. i got too bored though and decided i could try out this one thing. everybody knows the Actual Pain baphomet leggings that many people have. i wanted a pair of cool leggings as well but thought the baphomet logo was too plain, and not to mention, those leggings are damn expensive. so i went to a store, bought normal black leggings and decided to print them myself.

i have always been interested in the all-seeing eye, the symbol of eye inside a triangle. i was reading a bit about the symbol, and i decided i want to use this symbol in my "occult pants". i put the eye upside down and added a upside down cross to it. now everyone can decide themselves, is this totally ridiculous or not. in my opinion the picture looks good and that's it. i'm not a spiritual person at all. i wear things i like and that's it....

making the stencil for this print was a pain. it was really hard and took a long time. but i ended up with a nice stencil after all, so i was able to start printing. i used a ready made screen that was way too loose, so it was a bit difficult to work with. but i ended up with nice prints, and i'm happy with my work.

i hope i'll get better pictures some day. the print is placed higher on the leg than what it looks in this picture, i was in a hurry and wasn't wearing the leggings as they should be (i have no idea how to wear leggings wrong... :DDD )

SO YEAH that's it. i'm calling my leggings ACTUALLY VAIN leggings just because.

Update

hello everyone. i feel like a lazy person because i have been lazy with updating this blog. all i have done has been updating art, posting a picture and that's it. i don't like to comment my art that much, i want the viewer to make up their own minds. but maybe i could explain my thoughts and feelings towards my art more? what do you think?

news is that i'm soon starting my first practical training at school. i'm very exited and nervous. it's going to be loads of fun but also hurry and stressful stuff. but maybe i'll manage.

also i *hope hope hope* i will be able to publish my first art book some time this year!
there's a lot of work with that also, but i have been wanting to publish a book for forever.

all by all, life is ok. i'm working on a jacket now at school so soon you'll be able to see photos of what i've done. i have just finished my patterns, now i must make a mock-up to see the fit and then i'm ready to make the actual product :)

Quote

It's funny the way stuff finally hits you.
Take love, for example...
All that love that led me to Eloise...
is the same love that led me to kill my best friend.
Exact same love, different results.

SAVE ME SAVE ME

Press my thumb onto your tongue
hand a knife up to me
no mouth no neck no rest
THE WHITE POEM OF SELF-HATE STAYS WITH YOU...
even though you know a chance to cut
is still a chance to cure
pull your legs apart
save me save me
your body doomed as the last apple on the tree
so let me hurt you

Suicide666

oh shut up it's a happy picture with vibrant bright colours. i was feeling good while painting it! but i'll add the "angst" tag just in case ;)
